Multiplication -

Think of having a party.
The first number is how many tables you will have.
The second number is how many people at each table.

ex: 2 x 6...think "2 tables with 6 people at each" = 12 people at your party

or: 4 x 10... think 4 tables with 10 people at each = 40 people

or 6 x 9 ... think 6 tables with 9 people at each = 54 people

BUT... you have to count them all...so you can draw and count... or it's easier if you memorize them!
Here are some tricks!

The Tricks!

0's ... duh! Any number of tables with 0 people at each will be 0 people at your party

                    Anything times 0 is 0

1's  Anything times 1 stays the same

1 x 0 means you have one 0 0 = 0
1 x 1 means you have one 1 1 = 1
1 x 2  means you have one 2 2 = 2
1 x 3 means  you have one 3 3 = 3
1 x 4 means  you have one 4 4 = 4
1 x 5 means you have one 5 5 = 5
1 x 6 means you have one 6 6 = 6
1 x 7 means you have one 7 7 = 7
1 x 8 means you have one 8 8 = 8
1 x 9 means you have one 9 9 = 9
1 x 10 means you have one 10 10 = 10

2's... Just double the number

2 x 0 means you have two zeros 0 + 0 = 0
2 x 1 means you have two ones 1 + 1 = 2
2 x 2  means you have two twos 2 + 2 = 4
2 x 3 means  you have two threes 3 + 3 = 6
2 x 4 means  you have two fours 4 + 4 = 8
2 x 5 means you have two 5s 5 + 5 = 10
2 x 6 means you have two 6s 6 + 6 = 12
2 x 7 means you have two 7s 7 + 7 = 14
2 x 8 means you have two 8s 8 + 8 = 16
2 x 9 means you have two 9s 9 + 9 = 18
2 x 10 means you have two 10s 10 + 10 = 20
